Hydra’s Trail Event is pleased to announce that the Municipality of Hydra will once again serve as Gold Sponsor of the event for 2026, marking the third consecutive year of this partnership. This continued support confirms the long-standing collaboration between the Municipality and the event, as well as its commitment to initiatives that promote sport, extroversion, and the island’s visibility.

Through its support of major sporting events such as Hydra’s Trail Event, Hydra is further established as a destination for outdoor activities and high-quality experiences, attracting visitors from Greece and abroad.
Hydra’s Trail Event, now recognized as one of the most important trail running events in Greece, attracts hundreds of runners each year from both Greece and international locations. The race routes traverse the island’s historic paths, showcasing its unique natural landscape and offering a distinctive athletic experience that combines nature, history, and the challenge of trail running.
This year’s event carries particular competitive significance, as the Hydra’s Trail Marathon has been included among the official selection criteria for athletes aiming to qualify for the National Mountain Running Team. Athletes’ performances in the race will be taken into account for the formation of the team that will represent Greece at the European Athletics Off-Road Running Championships, to be held in Kamnik, Slovenia, in the wider Ljubljana region, from June 5 to 7, 2026. This development enhances the competitive profile of the event and strengthens its position within the national trail running calendar.
The support of the Municipality of Hydra as Gold Sponsor plays a decisive role in the implementation and further development of the event. t the same time, it contributes to the continuous improvement of the experience offered to both athletes and visitors, while expanding the national and international visibility of Hydra’s Trail Event.
