Registration process begins
As the time for the ultimate racing event gets closer, preparations have already started. Our goal for “Hydra’s Trail Event 2017” is to continue to offer thrilling moments to athletes who enjoy mountain trail running and allow them to experience the best services offered by one of the top four mountain trail racing organizations in our country.
Registrations have been set to start on Sunday 15th January 2017, at www.hydrastrail.gr, and have a limit of 1.000 athletes to ensure the high quality services provided to the participants.
Being consistent to our previous events, the first 300 athletes to register and validate their registration by paying the 20,00 € fee, will be transported from Athens to Hydra and back to Athens for free, by means provided by the organization. For this purpose, bus routes have been scheduled to depart on Friday (afternoon) 7th April and on Saturday (morning) 8th April from the center of Athens, and on Sunday (afternoon) 9th April to return to Athens. Details will be announced with a new press release and in the event program.
The races for the two-day event are still five, including the children’s race. Three of them are being held on Saturday and two on Sunday. Our innovation this year is the quality upgrade in the two races on Sunday, where paths have been added to replace prior dirt paths, increasing the altitude. So, the route for “Eros Mountain Trail” is now 26,3 km with 1250m positive altitude, while “Rock Race” is now 13km with 560m positive altitude. More details about the routes are available on our website. All athletes are able to participate in up-to three races while having paid one participation fee
Our goal is for participants to get to know the beautiful island and enjoy a two-day racing event in one of Greece’s most beautiful places. The routes have been designed to include mountain and seaside paths but also cobbled roads in the especially graphic urban area.
We hope to see you all then for an unforgettable weekend full of running, action and thrilling moments.
