A weekend filled with strong emotions, athletic performances and beautiful images marked the 11th edition of the Hydra\u2019s Trail Event<\/strong>, which surpassed even last year\u2019s anniversary edition and now moves dynamically into its second decade<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Hundreds of runners arrived in Hydra from all over Greece and many countries around the world<\/strong>, enjoying the open and well-maintained trails<\/strong>, the warm hospitality of the volunteers at the aid stations<\/strong>, and the unique experience of spending time on an island whose reputation extends far beyond the Greek borders.<\/p>\r\n

The aesthetics and culture of Hydra\u2019s people meet history and tradition<\/strong>, creating a unique atmosphere. In an island that resembles a natural stage, everyone gave their very best.<\/p>\r\n

The performances exceeded expectations. In the Hydra\u2019s Trail Marathon (38 km)<\/strong>, which also served as the Greek National Trail Running Championship<\/strong>, Vasilis Balamotis<\/strong>, coached by Giorgos Dialektos<\/strong>, crossed the finish line first with a time of 3:29:00<\/strong>.\r\nSecond place went to Manolis Pourikas<\/strong>, coached by Thodoris Daviotis<\/strong>, with 3:40:50<\/strong>, while Thanasis Pagounadis<\/strong>, coached by Kostas Vasilakis<\/strong>, finished third with 3:43:01<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Their performances were outstanding and the ITRA scores<\/strong> they are expected to receive will likely be very high, giving them a significant advantage in the race for the three spots on the Greek National Team<\/strong> that will represent Greece at the European Mountain Running Championship<\/strong>, to be held in Slovenia this June<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

In the women\u2019s race, Fotini Meintani<\/strong>, also coached by Giorgos Dialektos<\/strong>, delivered an impressive performance, finishing first in 4:22:16<\/strong>.\r\nShe was followed by Lemonia Panagiotou<\/strong>, coached by Dimitris Kassimis<\/strong>, in 4:46:27<\/strong>, and Elena Stathopoulou<\/strong>, coached by Kostas Vasilakis<\/strong>, in 4:50:12<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

It is worth noting that even the fourth-place finisher, Nikoleta Tzavara<\/strong>, is considered one of the biggest names in Greek trail running, highlighting that Hydra continues to attract the country\u2019s top athletes<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Following the top three in the 38 km race<\/strong>, the next finishers were Nikos Ponireas, Andreas Manetas, Alexandros Karykas and Dimitris Eleftheriou<\/strong>, all experienced and highly competitive runners.<\/p>\r\n

In the Rock Race (18 km)<\/strong>, Nikos Rodopoulos<\/strong> claimed victory with a time of 1:41:33<\/strong>, followed by Lampis Nikitas<\/strong> in 1:43:31<\/strong> and Andreas Andriopoulos<\/strong> in 1:49:54<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

In the women\u2019s category, the rising athlete Fani Avramoglou<\/strong>, coached by Giannis Kourkourikis<\/strong>, finished first in her first 18 km race of the season with 2:03:26<\/strong>.\r\nSecond place went to Fotini Koloka<\/strong> in 2:05:12<\/strong>, just two minutes behind, while Elisavet Papadima<\/strong> finished third with 2:13:52<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

In the Rookie Trail Race (8 km)<\/strong>, Giorgos Giannoulis<\/strong> crossed the finish line first in 41:32<\/strong>, followed by Petros Papadimas<\/strong> in 42:44<\/strong> and Anastasios Anastasopoulos<\/strong> in 42:49<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Among women, Vasiliki Pavli<\/strong> took first place with 55:41<\/strong>, followed by Telleria Liher<\/strong> in 56:37<\/strong> and Hydra\u2019s own Nicole Tsitsinaki<\/strong> in 59:54<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

The day before, the Run \u2019n\u2019 Fun Race (5 km)<\/strong> took place, a route open to participants of all ages.\r\nGiorgos Giannoulis<\/strong> finished first in 17:38<\/strong>, followed by Antonis Tergiakis<\/strong> in 18:27<\/strong> and Hydra local Giannis Moustakarias<\/strong> in 18:44<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

In the women\u2019s category, Lemonia Panagiotou<\/strong> finished first in 20:18<\/strong>, Evdokia Maneta<\/strong> second in 23:46<\/strong>, and Eleni Papadima<\/strong> third in 24:44<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

It was a full weekend of racing<\/strong>, featuring many of the elite athletes of Greek trail running<\/strong>, in an event characterized by energy, enthusiasm and strong competition.<\/p>\r\n

The contribution of the DIAVA team<\/strong>, responsible for the technical preparation of the race, was invaluable. The team managed to keep the trails open and clean<\/strong>, despite the severe weather conditions<\/strong> that had caused significant damage to the second half of the marathon course only a few days before the event.<\/p>\r\n

The Municipality of Hydra<\/strong> once again invested strategically in the event, recognizing it as an important tool for promoting the island in Greece and internationally<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

This year, the support of Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon (3E)<\/strong> was also particularly significant, marking an important step for the future of the Hydra\u2019s Trail Event<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

Finally, the support of the Hydra Nautical Club (YNO)<\/strong> played an important role, reinforcing the success of this year\u2019s event through its longstanding presence in the island\u2019s sporting life.<\/p>\r\n
