href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prefectures_of_Greece\">prefectures<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0<a title=\"Athens Prefecture\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Athens_Prefecture\">Athens<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"East Attica\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/East_Attica\">East Attica<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Piraeus Prefecture\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Piraeus_Prefecture\">Piraeus<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"West Attica\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/West_Attica\">West Attica<\/a>.<\/p><p>With the 2010\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Kallikratis plan\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kallikratis_plan\">Kallikratis plan<\/a>, the region&#8217;s powers and authority were completely redefined and extended. Since 1 January 2011, the region represents the second-level local administration.
