The Voluntary Fire Brigade of Hydra is an organic unit of the Fire Brigade and is hierarchically subordinated to the Nafplio Fire Brigade.
It is staffed by 18 volunteer firefighters (14 men and 6 women), and one professional firefighter. It is housed in a well-equipped building provided by the Municipality of Hydra and has a full range of firefighting and rescue equipment, 2 type A vehicles, one of 1000 liters and the other 850 liters with a complete firefighting and rescue devices.
It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, has the area of responsibility of the entire administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Hydra and intervenes in all kinds of events that include the concept of Civil Protection (urban and forest fires, rescues – release of people and animals, floods , etc.).
