If you have your own car or have rented one, you can easily get there from Athens in about 2 hours and 45 minutes. Following the Attiki Road and then the National Road of Athens Corinth. Taking the Epidaurus exit, turn left and continue for about half an hour, there you will see signs for Hydra, Poros, Spetses, follow them and turn right and immediately left under the bridge. Then you will come across an intersection (left towards Poros, Galata and right towards Ermioni,
Kranidi) there, whatever road you choose will take you to Metohi without any serious time difference. Metochi is the closest point of the Peloponnese to Hydra where you can leave your car and cross to Hydra with the Freedom boats.
